How We Make Healthcare Accessible

26 February 2026

One of our core principles to provide patient-centered care. For us, “patient-centered” starts with going beyond the diagnosis to see the person behind the patient. When you come to Alertive, you’re not just an illness or injury to be treated but a person with your own needs and expectations for care and recovery. You have a whole life and a whole history that exists outside of an examination room. It’s something healthcare professionals forget too often.

We Understand Your Values

Riverside is a diverse community, and our staff is a reflection of that diversity. The Greater Los Angeles area has become home to people from all over the United States and the world, and it is this diverse heritage that makes it such a special place. When you come to Alertive, you know you’re at home among people who understand you and where you come from.

We Speak Your Language

We speak your language—literally and figuratively. Part of making healthcare accessible is explaining your care options in language that people who aren’t doctors can understand. When you train for years in a specific discipline, especially one as complex as medicine, it can be difficult to translate that jargon into everyday language. At the same time, it’s important to talk about diagnoses and medications in a way that makes sense to you. We prioritize working with the patient to develop an individualized plan of care, and part of bringing the patient in on those decisions is making sure they understand the options available to them.

It’s not just the language of medicine that we speak. Riverside is over 50% Hispanic or Latino, its Hispanic heritage evident in the Mission Revival architecture you find all over the city. We have Spanish speakers on staff and will communicate with you in whichever language you’re most comfortable with.

We Have Roots in Riverside

Together, our founders have amassed over fifty years of healthcare experience. Much of our staff is either originally from the Greater Los Angeles area, have ties to the local community, or were educated nearby. We understand the needs of the people of Riverside. Even more importantly, we love this community and are committed to bringing every one of our patients the care they deserve.
